Title: Good morning, Sunshine Date&Time: 8/8/98 @10:30 Authors: Aaron(Spiffy) and Amanda -=-=-=-=-=-= Finn woke to find that he'd been sleeping on a necklace and a small piece of paper. While he couldn't see them to be absolutely sure, they certainly did provide evidence towards Aaron's existance. *So I know it's more than just a recurring dream, at least...* "Iya? You awake?" Finn called softly, not wanting to disturb her if she wasn't up yet. "You are up? Good." He heard a yawn, which almost sounded like a mild roar, and some rustling (flapping?) above him as Iya stretched. She'd woken up before Finn, but decided to continue resting until he woke up, rather than deny them both of some much needed down-time. The ex-slave heard a soft thud nearby as Iya jumped to the ground, using her wings to make her descent more enjoyable. "Have a look at this." Finn handed her the paper, which she took and examined. "What is it?" "A map, I think." "Oh... What is a 'map'?" Remembering the incident with the coins yesterday, Finn was able to keep from face-faulting. *If she doesn't even understand money or maps, we're gonna have an interesting time once we get to that town.* "It's, ah, something to help you figure out which way you have to go to get to where you want to be - You have to know how to read it, tho'" "Then we shall have to seek out someone in the town who has the knowledge to read this. But where did you get it?" "I got it last night while I was in Tel'aran'rhiod." Iya blinked at this. "How did you get there? I did not think that you left." "Well, it's sora like a dream world, so I didn't PHYSICALLY go anywhere... A wizard pulled me into it last night, but I'm not sure how he did it." "What reason would he have do that?" "Apparently he's got some friends that need help, and he found a way to help them so long as I'm nearby... Something about being able to create 'coincidences' around me." "Strange. So why you?" "To tell the truth, I've no idea. He could have found someone a lot more ... capable, if you ask me. There's some things that only wizards and gods can figure out." Iya sat down in front of the strange boy and thought about this new situation. What HAD she gotten herself into? And WHY had she let it happen? "Did you agree to help this wizard?" "Not really.. I told him I'd have to talk with you about it first." "ME?" "Well, there's not much I can do without you, is there?" The blind man offered a grin at that, letting Iya know he was comfortable with the situation. "...And I'm not going to drag you into something you don't want to do." *He is leaving you a way out. Just tell him no. That way, you won't get pulled in any further...* "Do you know if this wizard be trusted?" "I don't know..." *Say no. Say no.* "But he hasn't given me any reason to NOT trust him." "Do you wish to do as he has asked?" There was a pause as Finn thought about this. DID he want to do this? "Yes. To stay on a wizard's good side, if for no other reason." "Then I... I shall help out, as well. I have already agreed to travel with you - this will simply give our journey more of a purpose." Finn nodded in thanks and grinned again as he began to stand up. "Shall we get going?" "Indeed we shall. Breakfast is only but a short distance away." *Breakfast?
