Subject: RPG Stana -Kansas tornado Date: Thu, 14 May 98 11:44:49 -0400 From: Skyechan Save Address Block Sender retake: Teri leaned towards the computer, twisted a little so that she didn't bump stana, who was occupying the chair. As you know, it's always a little difficult using a mouse when you're not right infront of the computer, and as it was, Teri was having a bit of trouble searching for America Online. She knew that Paul had had the program a while ago-- though some sort of strange bug had eaten up his account, so he no longer used it. But she didn't think he would have deleted the program so quickly-- after all, spiffy had AOL, or instant messenger, or something like that.. "Ah-- ok," she whispered as she found the program and clicked it up-- Mac's weren't nearly as user-friendly as PC's ( =P ). The program was taking awhile to load, that stupid little circle-mouse-icon thing was turning round and round. Teri tried clicking a couple-of-times, as if that would make the machine remember what it was trying to do, and work faster. "C'mon--" she hit the monitor lightly, as Stana suddenly cried, "You blocked!" and Paul countered with, "of course!" Teri shot a glance at the two while the program opened, then typed her login- stuff and connected. Mail! Great! She opened a file from some strange address-- usually she just deleted anything she didn't recognize, but this one said "Hi Teri, It's me" in the subject heading... so she must know the person, right? Reading the body, she saw that it contained an attached file of a Fushigi Yuugi picture-- so she immediately forwarded it to her friend Estella, from home. (Estella was another avid FY fan)... and then started downloading the file. Suddenly the screen started flickering. Narrowing her eyes, Teri tapped the monitor again-- maybe there was something wrong with it. The one at her school's computer center turned pink randomly... But the hit only made the screen flash a brilliant white that caused her to squeeze her eyes shut-- she cried out from the pain-- and fell backwards, knocking stana and her chair over in the process--- everything went white-- then black-- and then cleared, leaving Paul's room completely empty of people-- Princess Bride still playing in the background. ------------------- "What the heck happened?!" Stana exclaimed, finally managing to pry an eye open. Thee were large bright colored spots floating and she waited for them to clear. "Ummm..>Teri? Paul? What just took place? Did the VCR explode or some----" her question stopped as her sight cleared. "Oh dear. Guys-" she turned her head. Noone. She looked the other way. Noone. The other. Just more trees and singing birds. The other. Water. *Blink Blink* "Hello?" she cleared her throat and repeated her greeting louder. "This doesn't make sense!!!!" she screamed in frustration. "If this is the Rapture than where the heck is everyone else?!?!" she quickly flipped through to the book of Revelations and scanned the few passages dealing with the "Translation" of the Christians prior to the Tribulation. "Doesn't say anything about trees and birds here-just being taken to be with the Lord-and I'm not sure but He's not right here physically anyway... TERI!? PAUL!? okok-Don't Panic-and it's not Thursday so you can deal with this...." She was babbling..she tended to do that when she was upset about something. Like having been in a familiar setting not five minutes ago-and suddenly being caught in a road trip to the middle of nowhere.... "Olly Olly Oxen Free?" "Ni?" "ecky ecky ecky...." she broke off, sighed, rubbed her head, removed her hat, put it back on and then hugged Woodstock closer. "ok-Girl Scout training here-what am I talking about I was a Brownie for crying out loud. Ok Common sense..." She stopped. Common sense? Who was she kidding? She was the girl that had eaten a cucumber shaped soap because her sister had told her it was candy. And she had gone back for seconds... "_Girl_Scout_ training." she repeated "I read the manual anyway..." she realized the birds had stopped their singing. Seconds later the sky opened up and the rains fell in buckets.
